Internship & Pre-Registration Examination

To qualify for registration by the Kenya Veterinary Board, a Veterinary Medicine graduate from a Board recognized University is required to undergo a successful 1 year internship program under supervision of a Veterinary Surgeon with not less than five years standing and has passed pre-registration examination organized by the Board.

To qualify for registration by the Kenya Veterinary Board, as a Veterinary Para-Professional graduate from a Board recognized Institution is required to undergo a successful 1 year internship program under supervision of a Registered Veterinary Surgeon and has passed pre-registration examination organized by the Board.

Internship provides students with an opportunity to get real life experience in veterinary work, thus enhancing knowledge acquired from university or other training institution. The students gain experience of the work requirements of a veterinarian and are thus able to grasp, client relationship, practice management and economics, communication skills, practical medical and surgical interventions, animal handling, welfare and production and responsibility of the veterinarian to clients and society.
